the first step in the alternative energy systemthis is what ive been working on all day & im pretty excited its done (well 95% at least) . a human-powered-excercise-bike-generator. its a 24v system for any geeks reading, and it does at least 5 amps w/o any tinkering.
-excercise bike stand from value village $10
-bike $ free
(when i told the bike store owners what it would be used for)
thanks Olympia bike and ski
- 5 gel batteries $0 courtsey vernon medical (old wheelchair batteries not usable to them but still mostly good)
-old dryer belt yeah free too
-multimeter $0 some freebee i got with that motorcycle mechanics course i did a while back
-pm dc motor, a few nuts and bolts, and a great welding job and other techy help from dad, thanks a bunch
so the next project for the system is a wind generator .... been doing some reserch and it should be in the works soon enough. also i heard you can get solar panel kits now and with soldering gun and a decent case you can make them in a day for a decent price. we'll see maybe down the road. still gotta put those tour pics up ahh maybe next time.
